Arthur Ronald Brannen, 92, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed peacefully surrounded by family, September 11, 2021.

Arthur was from Boston, Massachusetts (Somerville). A dedicated father, husband, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all.  He served his country for 20 years in the USAF.  He was a Korean War veteran and served as President of the Air Force Association for decades after his retirement. He participated in politics and served on the Jacksonville Planning Commission as Commissioner and Chairman for over 12 years.

He was a mentor to the local youth, he coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball.  He was a Boy Scout leader and a devoted member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Jacksonville where he taught Catechism for a span of 26 years. He was a Charter Member of Council 11604, and Assembly 2642, as a former Knights of Columbus District Deputy for three districts.

Arthur is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalie Brannen, of 65 years along with his three children, Linda Hellyer of Monterey, California, Mike Brannen of NLR, Arkansas and Patti Wright of Louisville, Colorado, a sister Beatrice Marden of Nova Scotia and brothers, Hugh Larkin, Shannon Larkin of Nova Scotia.  Arthur has seven grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Noelle Martin, Sara Brannen, Caroline Foshee, Stephanie Wise, Shea Black, and Zach Wright.  He was about to become a Great Grandfather to his first Great Grandson, Declan Clark. He will be missed by his beloved neighbor for 50 years, Scarlett Grady, and the neighborhood as a whole.

Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, Veronica Larkin, a brother Gordon Larkin, and a sister Mayola Nickerson of Nova Scotia.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
