Barbara Ann Carnes, 80, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away September 11, 2022. She was born August 20, 1942 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Norma Hackney. She was a very giving person, and an especially loving caretaker of her mother-in-law, Ruth.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Vaughn Carnes; mother-in-law, Ruth Carnes; sister, Beverly Bontumasi; and brother, Bob Hackney. Those left to cherish Barbara's memory include her daughter, Shannon (Mark) Pritchard; son, Shad (Becky) Carnes; sister, Kathleen Mitchell; brothers, George (Sue) Hackney and Jack (Dale) Hackney; grandchildren, Lindsey (Tim) Forbes, Mason (Kyler) Pritchard, Anna (Bryant) Nehring, Olivia Carnes, and Samuel Carnes; as well as her beloved seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the funeral home. Barbara will be laid to rest following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
