Basil "Sonny" V. McGuire III, age 62, went peacefully home to Heaven Monday, January 4, 2021.  Sonny was born September 13, 1958 in Algiers, Louisiana to the late Basil McGuire Jr. and Emilee Nelson McGuire.

Sonny grew up in North Little Rock and lived all his adult years in the Olmstead Community of North Pulaski County.  For a living, he did automotive paint and body work.  Sonny found much joy playing blues harmonica with his friends.

He loved his family and friends with all he had and never met a stranger in his life.  Sonny left us with these words of wisdom, "Love your family, love your friends, and keep Jesus in your heart."

Sonny will be greatly missed until we gather again in the presence of our Savior.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Laveda Tarkington; and granddaughter, Addison Star Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Thelma "Elaine" McGuire; son, Basil (Stephanie) V. McGuire IV; daughter, Aubrey (Eric) Reynolds; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Gibson and Diana McVay and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Indian Lakes Resort, 1365 W Lewisburg Rd, Austin, Arkansas  72007.
