Betty Grover, a Centurion, one of the very few to live over 100 years old, of The Manor in Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 3, 1924, in Shunk, Pennsylvania, she grew up in Upstate New York and lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Gordon, who remained ever-present in her heart. She began and ended each day by greeting his photo with a kiss, a testament to their timeless love. Together, they shared a passion for dancing, attending concerts, and enjoying music, especially big band tunes. Their love story was one for the ages.

A proud and loving matriarch, she is survived by her 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. Her family was her greatest joy, and she never missed an opportunity to share a conversation, a laugh, or a story with them. Affectionately nicknamed "Kettle" by her son, after the beloved characters Ma & Pa Kettle, the name became a term of great endearment and stuck with her throughout the years, capturing her warmth and humor. She left behind not only treasured memories but also invaluable lessons about kindness, resilience, and embracing every moment.

Known for her elegance and grace, she was always impeccably dressed, with hair perfectly styled and jewelry that highlighted her striking blue eyes. Despite living a century, she hardly seemed to age past 80. Her beauty, however, was matched by her warmth, humor, and adventurous spirit. She had an effortless ability to light up any room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She approached life with curiosity and openness, leading her to experience extraordinary moments and even becoming the oldest woman to take a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon and enjoy rides at Disney World, including Soarin', where she soared over the world at 97 years old!

She excelled in everything she did, from her career as a dedicated mother to her hobbies, which included reading, playing solitaire and computer games, and doting on her beloved pets. She also excelled in her various jobs throughout her life. When she worked in the cafeteria, her freshly made chili was so beloved that people lined up eagerly, hoping to get a taste before it ran out. Her cooking became a highlight of the day, and the sight of the long line was a testament to her talent and the joy she brought to others. An intelligent woman who kept up with the times, she learned to use a computer, iPad, and Kindle, even navigating Facebook well into her 90s! She truly was a remarkable woman who inspired those around her with her sharp mind, endless curiosity, and ability to adapt.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. She had a gift for making others feel loved and cherished, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone lucky enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, reminding us all to live with open hearts and generous spirits. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a shining example of beauty, strength, and a heart full of love.
