Betty Joen Henry, 88, passed away January 31, 2023. She was born March 11, 1934 in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Otis Leslie and Evy Dee Sample. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lamar Henry; sons, James Henry and Robert Leslie Henry; and sister, Lola Fay Warrick.
Betty graduated from Little Rock High School in 1952 and went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she advanced to the Drafting Department. She was one of the first women to work in drafting, and as much as she loved her job, she loved her family more and became a full-time mother. Betty accepted Christ as her savior at the age of ten and spent her remaining years witnessing at every opportunity. She was a devoted member of Toltec Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Portia Lawrence; grandchildren, Amy Lawrence, Michelle Leibold, Nicholas Henry, Benjamin, Henry, and Robert Scott Henry; step-grandson, Shelby Goodson; great-grandchildren, Kaeli Gaither, Kenadie Gaither, Maleigh Leibold, and Remy Leibold; sister, Sue (Buddy) Meyer; several nieces, nephews, and former daughter-in-law, Melissa Henry.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 with visitation one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m., both at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Betty will be laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wooster, Arkansas.
