Bill Hughes, 84, of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023. He was born on Sunday, November 12, 1939, in Little Rock to the late Daniel Rush and Sadie Lea Francis Abbott Hughes. Bill was a retired refrigeration technician with Phillips Refrigeration in Texarkana and an accomplished bowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Gladys Hughes, Melva Grandon and Jimmy Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Hills Hughes; his children, Angela (Jeff) Feist of Tupelo, Mississippi, and John (Debbie) Plummer of Millington, Tennessee; his siblings, Jewel Williams of Conway, Dorothy Rader of Ft. Smith, Cleo Rukes of California, Clara Torquato of Benton, Edna (Jack) Shearer of Alexander, and sister-in-law Ruthie Hughes of Alexander; four grandchildren, Victoria Kingsley, Elizabeth Queen, Sarah Patterson and Sarah Woodard; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Bill will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with interment to follow at Serenity Gardens. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service 9:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
