Billie Janice
Cater
Dec 24, 1945 — Jul 24, 2026
Jacksonville
Billie Janice Cater, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.
Born on a Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, 1945, in Harris, Texas. Billie was the cherished daughter of the late Dema and Bernice Le Blanc, and was also lovingly raised with the help of FA Stokley. As the middle child and only daughter between two brothers, Billie held a special place in her family's heart from the very beginning.
On February 16, 1968, Billie married the love of her life, Lonnie Cater. During their eleven-year union, they built a foundation of love and were blessed with four wonderful sons: Robert, James, Darrell, and Russell. Family was Billie's absolute greatest joy in life. She found complete contentment in the simple, beautiful moments spent with those she loved most.
Known for her vibrant spirit, Billie was a legendary fan of Elvis Presley, proudly collecting all things related to the King of Rock and Roll over the years. Her loved ones could always look forward to her regular phone calls, eagerly asking about the dinner plans for Friday night outings with "the crew"—traditions that were guaranteed to be filled with laughter and fun every single time.
As her family grew, so did her heart. Billie embraced her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother with endless pride and devotion.
She is survived by her children, Lonnie and their sons and daughters-in-law, Robert, James and his wife Tracey, Darrell and wife Andee, Russell and wife Page; grandchildren, Robert, Melynda, Anastasia, Alyssa, Patrick, Jennifer, Corey, Bradley, Colton, Alec, and Trenton; and great-grandchildren, LJ, Tiffany, Zoey, Danny, Elizabeth, Allison, Jennifer, Brody, Colt, AJ, Delilah, Remi, Zoey, and Lily.
Billie was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her beloved parents, Dema and Bernice; brothers, Russell and Wayman; and three precious great-grandchildren who passed before her, MaKenlee LeeAnn Faith, Jaxson Tyler Lee, and Brantlee Jaxton Kole Clingan.
"Memories pressed between the pages of my mind... memories cherished through all space and time."
Billie's warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
