Billie Jean Wood Wyatt, 99, of Jacksonville passed away January 27, 2026. She was born December 18, 1926 to Thomas A. Wood and Eula Ruth (Wilson) Wood in Toneyville, Arkansas. Billie is a Christian by faith and a member of Second Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Along with her parents, Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Buford M. Wyatt, step granddaughter, Steffany (Adams) Tigert, and six siblings.
Billie is survived by one son, Ron Pettey of Cabot; two daughters, Donna (Pettey) Adams of Conway and Frances Ann (Wyatt) Jones of Cabot; three granddaughters, April Pettey of Texas, Rachel Gibson of Cabot, and Sarah Wuelling of Cabot; one step grandson, Stephen Adams of Texas; seven great grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Billie started her working career in one of the six World War II Ordnance Plants located around Arkansas, which was near Jacksonville in Pulaski County. She later worked in the grocery business where she met her husband, Buford. After moving and spending ten years in Texas, they returned to Jacksonville to be close to family. Continuing to work in the grocery business and eventually owning their own grocery store. Billie retired at sixty-two after her husband's death and closing the store in late 1989. Billie then devoted her time to family until her death.
Our family would like to extend our extreme gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and all of the dedicated employees, who each, on a daily basis, provided such wonderful Christian love, support, and extraordinary care for our mom and our family during mom's almost two years of declining health. You are truly angels in disguise. May God bless you all.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home 1504 N JP Wright Loop Rd. Jacksonville, Arkansas. Billie Jean will be interred at Bayou Meto Cemetery next to her husband, Buford.
