Dr. Brent B. Benda, 76, of Sherwood went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2021. He loved the Lord and his wife Shirley. He enjoyed teaching statistics and writing research articles for refereed journals. Ultimately, however, he considered these endeavors unprofitable in comparison to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus as Lord (Phil. 3: 8-10).

Those left to cherish Brent's memory include his wife, Shirley; brother, Barry Benda of Oakland, California; stepchildren, Greg (Amanda) Stephens and Shannon Bjork both of Sherwood, Arkansas; grandchildren, Andrew Stephens and Ashley Stephens; and many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the exceptional MD's, RN's and staff at UAMS. As well as a special thank you to the congregation at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship for their love and support.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2021 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Officiated by Dr. Jason Bogardus. Brent will be laid to rest at Rest Hills Cemetery immediately following the service. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
