Carl Long was called to his forever home on March 9, 2025. A loving son and cherished friend, Carl's life was marked by his devotion to family and his passion for the outdoors. He found joy in hunting and fishing, pursuits that reflected his deep connection to nature.

Growing up on a farm, Carl developed a strong work ethic and a genuine love for the land. He never met a stranger, embodying warmth and friendliness in every interaction. Known for his mechanical aptitude, Carl had an innate ability to fix anything and enjoyed spending his free time tinkering with various projects. During his high school years, he dedicated three years to the ROTC program at Lonoke High School, demonstrating commitment and leadership.

He is survived by his mother, Melissa Long Ballard, and his beloved, Lilly, the flower of his eye.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Charles Long; his brother Jason Derouen; and his stepfather, Kenneth Ballard, affectionately known as "Big Daddy," who played significant role in his life.

He is loved by all of his siblings, Angelica, Charlie, Chey, Kenneth Jr., Nathan, Starlett, Laura, Crystal, Matthew, David, Sidney and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Carl's life will be held on March 22nd at 6PM at 403 Rifle Lane Lonoke, AR 72086.
