Obituary

Funeral services for Carol Ann Davis are set for Saturday, September 21, 2024, at noon at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Visitation will be 10:00 am—12:00 pm before the service. She will be interred at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood, Arkansas.

Carol went to be with the Lord peacefully Sunday morning at her residence, on September 15, 2024. She was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania on December 17, 1938, to the late Ziba Samuel and Dorothy Jean Evans.

Carol was married to the late Dr. David H. Davis for 56 years. She supported her husband while he served in the Navy, attended seminary, and worked in the ministry. Together they raised three boys.  She was always so proud of her boys and was ready to talk about them anytime with anyone. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who always prioritized family.

Carol was faithful in serving the Lord in the Christian ministry. Her passion and gift were molding little lives and helping them discover and learn. She devoted 29 years to teaching young children in Christian schools. Even after her teaching career ended, she loved caring for the children in the nursery as the Nursery Director at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband David, parents, Ziba and Dorothy Evans, her brothers, Bradley Evans and Boyd Evans, and sister Vivian DeRolf. She is survived by her brother Robert Evans (Linda) and her three sons: Jeffrey Davis (Janet), Brian Davis, and Scott Davis (Beth). Grandchildren: Daniel Davis, Lauren Davis, Caleb Davis, Brittney Maertens (Alex), Kourtney Moore (Jacob) and Ariel Davis. Great Grandchildren: Layah Maertens, Aubrey Blayke Thomas, Kenley Paige Moore, and Ava Grace Moore.
