Charles Robert ( Bob ) Barnett, age 77 of Cabot went to be with his savior on February 12, 2023. He was born December 10, 1945 in Jonesboro, AR to Fomby Barnett and Minnie Barnett. He graduated High School in Jonesboro AR and attended Southern Baptist College (now Williams Baptist University). He also attended The Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force in the field of communications. While in military he also served in the Civil Air Patrol; as music director for the Air Force Protestant Chapel at Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire. He was involved in establishing the Pease branch of MARS station (Military Affiliate Radio System) that enabled communication between families and service members in South East Asia during the Vietnam War.

Bob was a ham radio operator from the age of 14. He owned and operated his own business for 45 years, Barnett Electronics. He installed, maintained and sold two-way radio equipment to fire departments, police and emergency services. He held an FCC first class license and was a graduate of Elkins Electronics Institute, receiving a first class radio telephone license.

Bob always loved flying and became a pilot with multi-engine and instrument rating license, flying throughout the country and even once flew a mission flight to Honduras. He also supported Abundant Life Ministries in Honduras by installing and maintaining two way radio communications in houses and vehicles. He was also on the board of directors for Abundant Life Ministries.

Bob was active in emergency services such as maintaining weather radars and equipment. He was an auxiliary member at South Bend Fire and Rescue for 18 years. He received the fire chief's award in 2014.  Bob was also an auxiliary deputy in Lonoke County for several years in the area of communications.

Bob was very dedicated to serving others through church, community, business and wherever he was needed. As an ordained minister he served in church music ministry along with his wife Gloria. They served churches in Arkansas, New Hampshire, Texas, New Mexico, and also as a music evangelist in many different states. He was a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church, Sherwood Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Barnett. Sons; Darren Barnett of Cabot, AR, Daniel Barnett of Cabot, AR, David Barnett and wife Beth Barnett of Oklahoma City, OK and Daughter; Deborah Collins and husband Steven Collins of Daphne, AL along with 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Brothers; William (Bill) Barnett of Rogers, AR, Benjamin (Ben) Barnett of Jonesboro, AR and five nephews and their children.
