Charles Ambrose Young, 89, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away November 29, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1935, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Robert Allen Young, Sr. and Helen Young.

Charles grew up on a dairy farm in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he liked to cause a little trouble. During his younger years, he hauled moonshine between cities to make a little money. However, he grew up quickly after he joined the military, proudly serving in both the Marines and the Army. He served all over the world, and spent almost two years fighting in Vietnam.

After leaving the military, Charles went to work for Coca-Cola where he was a manager for almost 40 years. He tried to retire, but was unsuccessful as he worked several odd jobs to keep himself busy. He regularly found himself helping the Salman brothers with their mail delivery business.

Charlie was so much more than his work, though. In his later years, Charlie found his love in BBQ sauce, fudge, and tomatoes. He worked many years to develop the perfect BBQ sauce to ensure it was made just right; even having custom labels made for the bottles and getting the notorious name of "Bip's BBQ Sauce" by his two grandchildren. He took great pride in his garden, but especially in his tomatoes, often being referred to as a "tomato snob." Nothing could stop him from growing those tomatoes, regardless of the space available.

Charlie and his wife Faye loved spending time together at their cabin on the Arkansas River where they fished, went on joy rides, and even learned how to water ski. Charlie spent his last years telling and re-telling stories of their time alongside the river, his military service, work, and bragging about his children and grandchildren and the immense amount of pride he had for them.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Faye Young; children, Dennis Young, Alicia "Lisa" Faye Lee, and Jason Young; siblings, Capt. Robert Alan Young, Jr. and Theresa Lee.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Doug Lee; grandchildren, Grayson and Jackson Lee; siblings, Mary Helen Neal and Kathy Kemp.

A brief visitation will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, December 2, 2024, with a funeral service to follow with military honors at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 Loop Road Jacksonville, Arkansas.
