Christa Erika Tackenberg, 91, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021. She was born December 17, 1929 in Berlin, Germany to parents Willi Hans and Martha Margarete Waltje.  Christa grew up in Germany for the majority of her life,  The Second World War started just a few months before her tenth birthday. She met the love of her life, Richard Tackenberg, while he was stationed in Germany and they married in 1953. The couple spent 47 wonderful years together until Richard's passing in 2000. Once in America, Christa enjoyed acting as the Girl Scout Leader for her daughter's troop, being on the altar guild for the Hope Lutheran Church and volunteering for the Jacksonville Senior Center for 35 years. She also loved visiting Disney World and camping with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Christa will be welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Richard.

Those left to cherish Christa's memory include her daughter, Rowena (Chris) Canfield; five beloved grandchildren, Christopher Canfield, Dustin Canfield, Damien Young, Brittany Canfield and Christian Young as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
