Obituary

CMSGT Roland H. Roy, USAF, age 92 of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away July 20, 2026. He was born August 3, 1933, in Amesbury, Massachusetts, to the late Henry and Lena Roy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie; son, Glenn; and daughter, Pamela.

Roland retired '1907' with 26 years of service in the United States Air Force. Since his retirement, he worked as a realtor for 17 years and was a member of the Million Dollar Club for 15 years.

A devoted member of the Jacksonville community, Roland served on the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce for three years and chaired the annual Airlift Rodeo for six years. His commitment to serving others earned him numerous honors, including being named Jacksonville's Citizen of the Year for six years. He received the Kiwanian of the Year Award in 1987, the Arkansas State Award for Exceptional Accomplishment in 1988, and was named Honorary First Sergeant in 1989. In 1999, he was appointed Honorary Commander of the 314th Medical Support Squadron, a role he proudly held for five years.

Roland was a faithful member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. He was also a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, attaining the Fourth Degree. His dedication to the organization was recognized when he was named Knight of the Year in 2007 and Arkansas State Council Knight of the Year in 2008–2009.

Roland enjoyed his lake house at Greers Ferry for many years, entertaining friends, boating, and communing with nature.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 2403 McArthur Drive, Jacksonville, Arkansas on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11:00a.m., followed by burial with full military honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 11604, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
