Darrell Smith, 71, of Beebe passed away Friday, July 26, 2024. He was born December 28, 1952 in Ramsgate, England to Doreen Thorpe Smith and the late James Vernon Smith. Mr. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sargeant. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America as Cub Master.  Mr. Smith brought his son, Jeremy, through the scouting system even after he was grown. He was also involved in First Care at First Baptist Church Cabot. He enjoyed fishing, back yard gardening and eating at IHOP and Longhorn Steakhouse.  In addition to his father, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Doreen Smith; his children, Jeremy (Shantel) Smith and Wendi Roberts; grandchildren, Lindsey (Corey) Murray, Emily (Alex) Overton, Tucker Smith and Miles Smith; a sister, Sharon (Billy) Jones; nieces, Brenna (Ryan) Fitzgerald and Danya (Andy) Arnold and their children; a special friend, Ruby Busch as well as many loving cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Billy Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
