David Ralph Simcox, 76, of Jacksonville, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. He was born on Monday, May 13, 1946 to the late Ralph Edward and Gayle Irene Wilaby Simcox in Iowa City, Iowa. David was a retired United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant. He proudly served during the Vietnam War, including the Tet Offensive. He loved his career as a Loadmaster on the C-130 Hercules. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Russell Dean.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Betty Ann Hartford Simcox; his children, Tracy Lee Dean of Jacksonville, Michael Vern (Amber) Simcox of North Platte, Nebraska; his siblings, Naomi (Virg) Damratowski of Grand Island, Nebraska, Ruth Simcox of Cabot, Steven Simcox of Clay Center, Nebraska, Mark (Millie) Simcox of Wolbach, Nebraska, Deborah (George) Harris of Ardmore, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Christina, Amanda (Travis), Sara (Johnny), and Seth;  2 great-grandchildren, Nicole and Joshua.

Graveside services with military honors for David will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 . Following graveside service, a Celebration of David's Life will take place at 3:00pm at the Jacksonville VFW Post 4548. All are welcome to attend.
