David Eugene Whitley, 68, of Cabot passed away October 27, 2023. He was born December 26, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Virginia (Davis) and the late Harold Whitley. In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Vinsett; and brother, Robert "Bob" Whitley. David was known for his love of racing, the Razorbacks, but especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish the memories of David include his beloved wife, Jeanna Whitley; mother, Virginia Whitley; children, Eric (Mandi) Gonia, Michael (Amanda) Gonia, Dede Chapman, Keith (Katie) Whitley, and Katie Thomas; sister, Maggie A. McClellan; brother, John Whitley; as well as eleven beloved grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. David will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
