Delbert Edwin Dillon, Sr., 89, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 at home. He was born in Rutledge, Missouri on February 24, 1935 to the late Julian and Nellie Ann Dillon.

Delbert served in the USAF for 30 years and 7 months, retiring in October of 1982 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He worked in missiles and special weapons his entire career. During his service, Delbert served both stateside and oversees in North Africa, Turkey and England.  He then went on to work for 13 years at USPS retiring again in 2000.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Leora Jackson and Lois Anderson; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Dillon; one sister, Noralyn Armstrong, of Memphis, Missouri; four children, Mary Ann (Steve) Campbell, of Belleville, Illinois, Eddie Dillon, of Sherwood, Arkansas, Norma (Robert) Smith, of Branson, Missouri, and Leonard (Tammie) Dillon, of Cabot, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Bobby Smith, Michael (Susie) Smith, Leslie Crownover, Logan Dillon, and Liam Dillon; 6 great-grandchildren, Robby, Chloe, Katie, Amarah, Jahaza, and Sophia Smith, plus another due in October; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral home with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM at the funeral home.
