Edeltraut "Karin" Davenport, 81, of Jacksonville passed away January 15, 2022. She was born February 24, 1940 in Berlin, Germany to the late Johannes Hans and Ella Dora (Klambeck) Nita. In addition to her parents, Karin was preceded in death by her sons, Gordon Hans and Klaus Andree Herrington; and siblings, Hans and Klaus Nita. She was raised in the Lutheran Church while living in Germany but attended several churches throughout her lifetime. Karin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that were lucky enough to have known her.

Those left to cherish Karin's memory include her husband, Melvin Davenport; daughter, Susan Sherry Meek; grandchildren, Shelley Meek and Mallory Meek; sister, Erika Gorsky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
