Edward "Eddie" Seidl of Cabot, Arkansas passed away June 7, 2023. He was born on June 4, 1935 in Neufahrn, Germany to the late Anton and Franziska (Dafner) Seidl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Eddie and his wife, Linda, immigrated to the United States from Germany on April 26, 1964 by sponsorship from his uncle, John (Erika) Seidl. They made Little Rock their home before moving to Cabot, Arkansas. Ed was a butcher and sausage maker by trade. He was part owner and operated the Cabot Locker Plant in Cabot for many years. Ed had many friends and was well known for making excellent sausage, especially his deer sausage.
In his spare time, Ed loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also loved sports and watching his children and grandchildren play. In his younger years, Ed played soccer while living in Germany. He was a devout member of St. Jude's the Apostle Catholic Church and a 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus. Above all else, his pride and joy in life was his family.
Ed is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Linda (Windirsch) Seidl; daughter, Angie Livingston; his son, Eddie R. (Tracie) Seidl; sister, Erna Hoffman of Germany; three grandchildren, Ashton (Jake) Thompson, Easton (Bethany) Seidl, and Brittany (Austin) Mitchell; five great-grandchildren, Savannah and Stella Mitchell, Kason Allen, Beaux Thompson, and Titan Seidl; sister-in-law, Cathrine Seidl; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at St. Jude's the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be the evening prior, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with Rosary Service immediately following the visitation.
