Elizabeth "Betsy" Anne Morton, 85, of Jacksonville passed away on October 17, 2020. She was born on August 27, 1935 to the late W.M. Rodney and Margaret Louise (Barnes) Neal in Walnut Cove, North Carolina.

Betsy was the secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's business, Morton's Appliances, from 1976 until her retirement in 2012. She was also a substitute teacher in the 1970's for Warren Dupree Elementary School in Jacksonville. In her spare time, Betsy enjoyed reading, crosswords, puzzles, bowling and playing card games like bridge and pinochle. She especially loved travelling the world and visited 33 countries.

Those left to cherish Betsy's memory include her husband, James "Jim" Morton; daughter, Janet Van Skiver; son, David (Karen) Morton; and two grandchildren, Brendon and Katelyn Morton.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Betsy will be laid to rest after the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
