Obituary

Elizabeth "Liz" Mae Dahlke, 68, of Jacksonville, AR sadly passed away on September 7, 2023. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her family needed her. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Gray; and brother, Michael Burns.

Liz was born in El Paso, Texas and moved to Jacksonville, AR in the 1970's. She was a beautiful woman who, in her youth, loved to dance. Liz was a member and volunteer of both the Salvation Army and at a Pathfinder Inc. She was also a substitute teacher at Murrell Taylor Elementary, where her daughter, Marie, attended. Liz was loved by her daughter's Marie's classmates and her friends. She had a boisterous laugh and a heart of gold. She unfortunately suffered a stroke in 2012, yet learned to walk twice during her healing journey. She went on to live comfortably with her husband, Eric, in her later years. She was an avid reader of classic literature, loved classic TV shows, as well as movies.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Eric Dahlke (SMSgt retired, USAF); daughter, Marie Elizabeth Dahlke (1st Lt, USAF); mother, Delfina Gray; siblings, Ester Burns, Stephen Gray, Mary Gray, Sidney Gray, and Thomas Gray.
