Eloise Bates Durham, 92 of Jacksonville, Arkansas died December 14, 2023. She was born February 16, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas as the only child of the late Ned O. and Hazel (Diemer) Bates Dunham. In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Durham MD; and son, Daniel A. Durham. Eloise attended Little Rock High School and graduated in 1948. She was very devoted to her family and many friends. She had a love of animals, especially cats, and also loved gardening and decorating for the holidays.

She is survived by her two sons, James M. Durham and his wife Darlene, and David W. Durham and his wife Teresa DVM; granddaughter, Sierra Durham; and grandson, Daniel Durham, all of Jacksonville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Eloise will be laid to rest following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Fox Ridge Senior Living and the Memory Care Staff for their care of Eloise. The family also asks that any memorial denotations be made in Eloise's name to the Jacksonville Animal Shelter.
