Ernest J. Hall, known as "Ernie" and "George", 78, of Jacksonville died August 7, 2023. He was born September 19, 1944 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Everett and Dorothy (Kniveton) Hall. In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry, Ken, and Allan Hall; and aunt, Edith Seifert.

Ernie proudly served his country in the United States Navy for twenty years. He worked as a volunteer on the base for many years; as well as Mission 5000 delivering meals. Ernie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville since 1982. Ernie married the love of his life, Trudy, January 21, 1967 in Arlington, Virginia.

Ernie is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Trudy; daughter, Angie Hall; son, Chris (Caroline) Hall; three grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan (Jay), and Lauren; sister, Ellie Jernigan; sibling-in-laws, Nancy (Den) Moore and Gary (Margaret) Cramer; and his buddy, Whiskers the cat.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Visitation will be the evening prior, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the church. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
