Ethel Mae Chesser, 91, of Jacksonville passed away December 23, 2020. She was born March 23, 1929 to Thomas and Rosa Belk in Otwell, Arkansas. Ethel graduated from Egypt High School in 1947 and has lived in Jacksonville for the past 54 years. She retired from Franklin Electric after 20 years of service.  In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clen "Skint" Chesser; daughter, Jeanetta Chesser Vails; two granddaughters, Jennifer Fugatt and Misty Chesser, as well as her great-grandson, Hagen Jones.

Ethel is survived by her sons, Mike (Diane) Chesser of Alicia, Steve Chesser of Jonesboro and Tim Chesser of Jacksonville; daughters, Marsha (Bob) McGhee of Paragould, Donna Lang of Jacksonville and Pamela Bulice of Greenwood; sister, Janeice Makin of Egypt; brother, Duane Downs; 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held the night before, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the funeral home. Ethel will be laid to rest following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
