Eulin Coy Downing, age 89, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on August 17, 2025, at Lonoke Health and Rehab after a brief illness. He was born on July 1, 1936, in Osceola, Iowa, to Carlton and Zura Downing.

Eulin attended high school in Lacona, Iowa, before proudly serving in the United States Army. He later earned a degree in Automotive Technology from Arkansas State University, then known as the Arkansas State Teacher College.

From 1965 to 1995, Eulin taught Automotive Technology at North Little Rock High School (Ole Main) and was active in the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA). He played a key role in advancing vocational education by training students in automotive repair using cutting-edge tools and technology provided by local Chrysler and Ford dealerships. Under his guidance, students competed in automotive competitions, with winners earning a trip to the Indianapolis 500.

Outside the classroom, Eulin was a passionate cattle farmer and a proud member of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association. He was also a lifelong member of the Central Arkansas Two-Cylinder Tractor Club. His love for farming extended into a hobby of collecting farm machinery.

On December 24, 1969, he married the love of his life, Patsy Jane (Navens) Downing. Together, they shared a deep bond and traveled extensively throughout the United States. One of their favorite traditions was attending Winged Sprint Car races in Iowa, a passion they enjoyed throughout their marriage.

Eulin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Amil Downing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Patsy Downing, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
