Fidel "Fritz" Pena, age 91, of Jacksonville went to his Heavenly home on July 23, 2020. He was born April 24, 1929 in Crystal City, Texas to the late Lorenzo and Anita (Olivarez) Pena. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946-1968 and was a Korean War Veteran.

Being the oldest boy, Fritz had to drop out of school in order to help support his family. After joining the military, he sent his paycheck home to his parents to help with family expenses and the raising of his younger siblings. He made his profession of faith at the age of 8 and walked close with his Lord for the rest of his life. He loved to read his Bible daily and could quote scripture by heart. He was a Deacon, former Sunday School teacher, and avid prayer warrior. People would say "they loved to hear him pray and if you needed someone to pray for you, it was Bro. Fritz!". Fritz also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything to do with being an outdoorsman.

He is survived by his children, Paul (Barbara) Pena, Anita Collie and Brenda (Charles) Keefover, all of Jacksonville; step-children, Frank Phillips of Missouri, Donna Phillips and Linda Phillips, both of Ward; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his brother, David Pena of Concord, California; his sisters, Penny Hess, Mary West, and Eva Streeter, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Rita Dilda of Florida.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Dallas Pena and Helen Pena; three sisters, Carolyn Gomez, Andrea Walker, and Louisa Estrada and a brother, Albert Pena.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
