Franklin "Frank" Durrel Sturdivant, 70, of Jacksonville, passed away August 5, 2022. He was born March 12, 1952 in Maryville, Tennessee, to the late James Robert and Gladys Marie (Hutson) Sturdivant. In addition to his parents, Frank was welcomed into Heaven by son, Derrick Sturdivant; brothers, Chuck Garren, Larry Hutson, Ronnie Garren, and Jim Sturdivant; and best friend, George Berry.

Frank proudly served in law enforcement for over thirty years between the Jacksonville Police Department and Lonoke County Sheriff's Department. One of his greatest achievements was graduating from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 1986.  He retired as Captain of the JPD in 1993.

Anyone who knew Frank knew he was an excellent storyteller with a great sense of humor. Hearing the words "that reminds me of a time when..." while Frank was around meant you should get comfortable in your chair because you'll be listening for quite some time. He was a history buff and loved learning about his ancestry. Above all else, he loved his family and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

Those left to cherish the memory of Frank include his wife, Janis Sturdivant; children, Sarah (Jonathan), Brad (Misty), and Mike (Chrissy) Sturdivant; grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Alex, Adam, Vann, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Carter, Sadie, Brynlee, Stella, Crew, and Sophia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Graveside service will be immediately after the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, where he'll be laid to rest with his beloved furry companion, Buddy.
