Obituary

Fred Jewel Tyson IV, 30, of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021. He was born July 30, 1991 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Fred was a loving and generous man to everyone he encountered, especially his family. But the real twinkle in his eye was his niece and nephew who worshiped and adored him. He was fortunate to find a mentor and lifelong best friend through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program which afforded him wonderful experiences that helped shape him into the man he became. His passions were gaming, his thirst for knowledge, his motorcycle and most importantly, tacos. He had recently started on the path of his hard-earned career in mechanical engineering. He will be remembered and missed for his capacity to love, fierce loyalty to his family and peers, generous spirit, compassionate heart, his terribly corny jokes, and a smile that lightens up a room. Bubba, we will feel your loss every day and the sun will never shine quite as brightly without you.

Fred is survived by his mother, Cyndi Tyson; sisters, Sway Tyson and Burgandy Tyson; niece, Nyxie Tyson; nephew, Cordane Tyson; grandmother, Shyrlene Plattor; big brother, Chris Syllaba (from Big Brothers/Big Sisters); his loyal dog, Jack as well as extended family and many friends.
