The family of Freddie Wayne Kelly of Jacksonville is saddened to announce his passing on December 12, 2024 at the age of 73.

Freddie leaves behind his wife, Nikki.  He and she were able to create a life worthy of remembering for all who knew them. He is survived by his brother Danny Kelly who spent weekly visits with him at the nursing home. He is also survived by his children, Victoria Keel and her husband David of Crossroads, Yancey Kelly and his wife Amanda of Snake Island, Kevin Kelly and his wife Caroline of South Bend, and Cody Kelly also of South Bend. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren, Madison, Emily, Alyssa, Chase, Maria, Dakota, Brennon, Connor, Blakleigh, and Miles. He was blessed by an ongoing line of great grandchildren: Londyn, Everleigh, Harper, Ivee, Hoyt, Ansleigh, Kilynn, Zander, and Gatlin.

Freddie was in the Air National Guard for over thirty years as a fuel cell maintenance technician.  During this time his children remember the many vacations to Lake Ouachita and watching him crush men much younger than him in waterskiing.  The trips to deer camp hold special places in the children's hearts as well, especially card playing for cash with his friends. Catching crappie at Webb Lake, watching their sporting events, and watching the Super Bowl every year will also be traditions they hold dear.

He also was in the Little Rock Stage Union for about fifteen years.  Yancey was able to work with him, setting up bands and building more memories.  Freddie also worked as a union electrician on movie sets so friends and family can always watch Mud or Come Early Morning and remember his work fondly.

Kevin's favorite memory is the daily visits he was able to have with Dad on the back porch since he was blessed to live next door.  Yancey remembers coming in from work and watching Bonanza with him when they still lived close.

A quote fitting the love his children have for him is "Dad, you are the man who showed me how to be strong, independent and fearless."  Please remember the great times you all have had with Freddie and his wonderful family at this time.
