Gary Charles Hicks was born the son of Charles S. Hicks III and JoAnn Cummings Hicks on July 20, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas and passed from this life into eternity with the Lord on Monday May 25, 2026.

Gary, the oldest of the Hicks' boys, loved his family, his cat Snickers, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a hard worker. As a young adult, he cared for patients at the state hospital. He then drove a truck for Pepsi, servicing stores across parts of Arkansas. Later in life, he drove a semi-truck, delivering goods across the country.

Gary cared for his mother for the last twenty years of her life, providing for her needs. He would do anything to help people in need. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a teenager and is now in Heaven with his Lord and the family that preceded him.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Hicks; his father, Charles S. Hicks III; and two brothers: Steven Hicks and Terry Gene Pemberton. He is survived by two brothers, Stan Hicks and Chris Hicks, of Senath, MO, and by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Park beside Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
