Gaylia Stone Holmes, 87, of Dover, Arkansas passed away November 4, 2023. She was born January 13, 1936 in Camden, Arkansas to the late Zachary and Susie (Albritton) Stone. In addition to her parents, Gaylia was preceded in death by her husband, James Holmes; son, Richard "Ricci" Holmes; and sister, Janie Smith.

Gaylia was an Air Force wife and proud mother of her four sons. After her husband, James, retired from the Air Force, the two loved travelling the world. In her spare time, Gaylia enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching her four boys play sports and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved collecting teapots and cookbooks - at one point she had over four hundred and fifty books.

Those left to cherish the memories of Gaylia include her sons, Kenneth (Rhonda), David (Debbie), and Timothy (Sherri) Holmes; daughter-in-law, Andrea Holmes; brother, Jerry (Barbara) Holmes; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association . The Holmes family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pinnacle Home Care and Hospice Home Care.
