George Kenneth Jennings, 80 years old, hung up his keys for the final time on September 21, 2025. Though his gruff exterior and sarcastic quips preceded him, his family and friends knew that a heart of gold was beating beneath his weary trucker's vest.

Born in 1945, Kenny was an equal-opportunity offender who found immense joy in teasing the people he loved most. A veteran of The United States Navy and the open road, he spent countless hours behind the wheel, he could find his way (eventually) through any storm, on the road or in life, armed with a trucker's map in his head. Kenny was a man who believed a firm handshake should come with a well-aimed barb and that a good joke was always worth the eye-roll it received. His rugged exterior was simply a prerequisite for unlocking the treasure of his quick wit, profound wisdom, and an endless supply of affection for those he held dear. He had an opinion on everything, and you could always count on him to share it, usually with a smirk and a twinkle in his eye. He made his legendary smart-ass comments not out of malice, but out of a deep and joyful need to connect with people. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Kenny was the kind of grandpa who teased until you cried and then immediately hugged you until you laughed again. He had a gift for pointing out the obvious and a knack for saying what everyone else was thinking. Beneath the rough exterior and the salty language was a man who was deeply loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of driving with him, working with him, or simply being tormented by him.

His family will sorely miss his famous grumbling but will forever cherish the lessons he taught them, often delivered with a well-aimed barb and a twinkle in his eye. His wife, Cathy, was the only one brave enough to ride shotgun for more than five minutes, and his children learned to not only duck but also to volley back his sharp wit. His grandchildren always knew that a joke was a sign of affection, and that a growl meant he secretly adored their antics.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, James and Leila (Bain) Jennings; beloved wife, Cathy Jennings; and grandson, Johnathan Charles Shaffer.

He is survived by his siter, Dartha Dewoody; children, Mark Allen Jennings, Sr., James Victor Jennings; and Emily Anne Brindle; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 2:00p.m., on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Fellowship Christian Center, 306 Brookswood Road, Sherwood, Arkansas.
