On Wednesday morning, July 5, 2023 at 10:10 a.m., our Savior reached out His hand with a finger of love and touched the brow of our beloved one, George Edward Thrower, and took him home to his eternal rest and reward. George was born Saturday, June 17, 1944 in Cullendale, Arkansas to the late Wilmar Fogle and McKinley Thrower. In addition to his parents, George was welcomed into Heaven by sister, Gypsy Gail Fogle; and brothers, Robert Greenlee and Carl S. Sanders, both United States Air Force Veterans. George graduated from LaFayette High School in Camden, Arkansas. He went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in history and government from the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff.

George leaves to mourn two sisters, Carolyn Jean Middleton of Bronx, New York, and Penny M. Fogle (U.S. Air Force) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; brothers, Lee Timothy Greenlee (U.S. Army) of Gothenburg, Sweden, and Willie (Margaret) Hines (U.S. Air Force) of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. During his time here on Earth, George was a surrogate father to Kristi Hunter of Loganville, Georgia and Donald Hunter of Sugarland, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 also at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. George will be laid to rest at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
