On April 30, 2025, Glenys "Deirdre" Reilly, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by three generations of her family.

Deirdre was born in Nottingham, England, on September 19,1937, to Wallace and Bertha (Adler) Smith. She is survived by her children, Sharon Moore (Mike), of Healdsburg, California, Patrick Reilly (Carol) of San Diego, CA, and Daniel Reilly and Shona Reilly, both of Sherwood, Arkansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Reilly of Sherwood, AR, Nikki Moore and Sophie Moore, both of San Francisco, CA, Michael Moore of Dallas, Texas, Shannon Reilly of San Diego, CA, Alexandra Hyatt (James Nelson) of Arvada, Colorado, Reilly Cline (Ben) of Little Rock, AR, and Coleman McAtee of Shalimar, Florida; and her great-grandchildren, Max and Rosie Jane Cline of Little Rock, and Rowan and Edie Hyatt-Nelson of Arvada, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother, John Smith.

Deirdre married Patrick Reilly in 1957 after meeting him while he was stationed in England in the United States Air Force; the USAF took the growing family to Florida, California, Oregon, back to England twice, and finally to Arkansas, where they settled. Although Deirdre eventually became a proud U.S. citizen, she was always a "Brit" at heart, and a passionate defender of the Royal Family.

Her early years in Arkansas were devoted to raising her four children, in whom she instilled the importance of fierce honesty, unwavering kindness, and unconditional forgiveness; Deirdre had an unyielding moral compass, and always found the good in people. As a true matriarch and loyal friend, Deiridre will be missed by her immediate family, by her religious family at St. Jude's Catholic Church, and by her beloved "British" community.

The family expresses their deep appreciation and gratitude for the kind, compassionate, and outstanding care given to Deirdre by her physicians and their supporting staffs, including Dr. Alan R. Storeygard and Dr. John David Wilkins. A special thanks goes out to Dr. David Greenwood, her pulmonologist, friend, and champion during the ups and downs of her chronic illness.

In her final days, Deirdre was surrounded by those who loved her; she was loving, alert, and sharing wonderful memories until the end. She was so delighted and enchanted by the baby bluebirds visiting her window that looked out into her garden, that the family came to see them as a blessing and a symbol of peace.

There will be a celebration of life at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2403 McArthur Dr, Jacksonville, Arkansas, with a reception to follow at the church hall.
