Gwendolyn Slash, 84, of Jacksonville, passed from this life Friday, February 24, 2023. She was born Saturday, January 28, 1939 in Pearsall, Texas to the late Edward and Inez Jane Barller Richardson. Gwendolyn was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and retired from the Pulaski County Special School District. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Redford Carroll Slash, Sr. and her siblings, Joan Sims, Bobbye Jean Cobb, Edward Richardson, Jr., Jimmy Richardson.

Gwendolyn is survived by her children, Redford Carroll Slash, Jr. of Okinawa, Japan, Robert Edward and wife, Karen Jaye Slash of Jacksonville; a sister, Marilyn Hughes; four grandchildren, Redford Carroll Slash III, Cliff Yen (Brittany Deann) Slash, Ashley Nicole Slash, Amber Michelle Slash; five great-grandchildren, Nalyah Kailei Rumph, Chandler Yen Slash, Cannon Yen Slash, Cohen Yen Slash, Braeligh Nevaeh Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Jacksonville, interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
