Harold Edwin Scherz left this earth peacefully on February 8, 2025. A loving son, father, and brother, Harold was born on October 24, 1936, in Peoria, Illinois to the late Morene W. Scherz and Virgil O. Scherz. Harold is survived by two brothers, Marvin Scherz of Rogers, Arkansas, and Scott Scherz (Connie) of Little Rock, Arkansas; his three children, Deborah Scherz (Diana) of North Little Rock, Blake Scherz of Southaven, Mississippi, and Michele Scherz (Jason Carl) of West Hartford, Connecticut; three grandchildren, Hannah Scherz, Brooklyn Baylor, and Nola Bee Baylor, and several nieces and nephews.

Harold had a passion for birds, nature, football, and cars. He graduated high school in California and later lived briefly in Dallas, Texas, where he studied acting. Harold later enjoyed a successful career in sales in Northwest Arkansas, but would eventually return to North Little Rock where he resided most of his life.

For many years Harold enjoyed his role as "greeter" at Fellowship Bible Church of Little Rock where he was known as "Hal" among a cherished community of friends who would become a valuable part of his life. Friends and family were frequently entertained by Harold's love of song and whistle, and he never missed the opportunity to wish his children a Happy Birthday through song, delivered by phone or voice message.

A private burial will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family has asked that in memoriam donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Additionally, the family wishes to acknowledge the love and care Harold received during his residence at Robinson Health and most recently at CHI St. Vincent, and Little Rock Hospice Home Care.
