Harold D Stringfellow, Sr., passed away March 24, 2024. He was born December 18, 1935 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to William Otis and Gladys Stringfellow. He had one brother, Lloyd, and four sisters, Juanita, Jeannie Charlene, Patricia, and Billie Lynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd; and sisters, Juanita, Jeannie Charlene, and Billie Lynn.

After graduation from high school in 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving in Morocco, Korea, and France. After being assigned at the Little Rock AFB in 1961, he met the love of his life, Frances Smith, and they married in 1963. She preceded him in passing after 48 years in this life together. They had three children together, Cynthia, her husband, Bill, Lisa, and her husband Brad, and Harold, Jr. They were blessed with seven grandkids, Chad, Ryan, Chris, Shelby, Frances, Garrett, and Elizabeth; 18 great-grandkids; and a beloved friend, Trish Brown.

He retired from the Air Force after 23 years as a Senior Master Sergeant, with a career in Fire Protection where he served every position in the Fire Department. He retired to work as a civilian in the Fire Department at the Little Rock AFB. He worked another 24 years after retirement, of which 18 years, he was Fire Chief. During this time, he was selected as most outstanding Gov. Civilian of the Year at Little Rock AFB and outstanding Gov. Civilian of the Year for the state of Arkansas. The fire department received many outstanding awards under his leadership as chief. The one he was most proud of was in 1999 when his department was chosen as the most outstanding fire department in all of Department of Defense, competing with over 500 fire departments in the Airforce, Army, Navy and Marines.

He was a past Potentate of Scimitar Shrine, past commander of Arkansas Counsel of Albert Pike Temple in Little Rock. He was a 33-degree Mason member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Royal Order of Testers Court 12 and member of Jacinto Lodge in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was a proud member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas, a bus driver for the Church on Sundays, and a member of the Churches First Family Ministry.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas with Masonic Rights and full Military Honors taking place at the entombment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
