Obituary

Helen Mae Hall, age 77, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on June 21, 1947, in Newburgh, New York, Helen was the daughter of Patricia Fitzgerald Holbert and Forrest Vincent Holbert. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend—widely admired for her honesty, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Helen had a remarkable talent for quilting and found great joy in spending time with her family.

Helen began her professional journey as a telephone operator and later served as a librarian at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She ultimately retired after two decades of distinguished service as a New York State Correctional Officer. She served her community and taught many other officers how to be the best of the best!

Helen was deeply committed to her faith and an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She lived her life with purpose, generosity, and strength—offering her time, support, and love freely, and without expectation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Forrest Holbert.

Helen is survived by her children, David (Eileen) Hall of Austin, Arkansas and Colleen (JB) Higgins of Livingston, Texas; her grandchildren, Joseph Higgins, David (Rachel) Hall, Zach Hall, and Madison Hall. She is also survived by her siblings, Scott (Mary Jane) Holbert of Walden, New York, Paul Holbert of Walden, New York, Ann (Jamie) Alisandrella of Wallkill, New York, and Marilyn (Edward) Jackson of Walden, New York; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Helen will be remembered for her deep faith, her fierce and generous spirit, and her enduring love for her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM, on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2403 McArthur Dr, Jacksonville, AR 72076. There will be a rosary beginning at 9:00AM, with visitation from 9:30AM until the time of mass.

Mass will be at 10:30AM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Parish 42 Walnut St. Walden, NY 12586. She will be buried alongside her parents following mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery, New York.

The family has kindly requested for no flowers, but instead for donations to be made to CARTI or Beyond Boundaries Equine Therapy Center
