James "Jim" Alvis Gentry, 64, of Jacksonville, passed away December 13, 2020. He was born May 28, 1956 in Columbus, Mississippi to parents Alvis Sherril "Sonny" and Jamie Gentry. Jim was a simple man that enjoyed taking trips in his car without a real destination. He loved to hunt deer and fish at Lake Conway, as well as collect model trains. He will be missed as the jokester in the family. Jim was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Alvis "Sonny" Gentry.

Those left to cherish their memories of Jim include his wife of 47 years, Kay Gentry; mother, Jamie Gentry; children, Amanda (Cary) Copeland, Scott (Phyllis) Gentry and Todd (Jessica) Gentry; sister, Pam (Mitch) Lee; grandchildren, Blake (Rachel), Brittany, Austin, Shea, Kaebra, Michael and Rose as well as his great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Jim's life will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.  501-982-2136.
