James Clifton Bush, 92, of Jacksonville passed away December 20, 2023. He was born February 11, 1931 in Fisher, Louisiana to the late James Isaac and Minnie Pearl (McComic) Bush. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Allen Bush; and his siblings, Douglas, Cecil, Curtis, Jerry, and Vonita "Nita".

James will be lovingly remembered for his selfless servant's heart. He proudly served his county in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, James worked for the United States Postal Service. Wanting to keep himself occupied after two retirements, James started running his own rental properties, where he'd work on maintenance of the rental homes. He was an all-around handyman, fixing all odds and ends not only for the homes he was obligated for, but anyone else in his neighborhood that needed a helping hand. In his spare time, James enjoyed tending to his gardens where he grew tomatoes, cucumbers, and blackberries. He was an active and dedicated member of the Marshall Road Baptist Church before his health declined.

Those left to cherish the memories of James include his wife, Juanita Bush; sons, Steven Paul and James Timothy Bush; as well as extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be the evening prior, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the funeral home. James will be laid to rest following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
