James "Jim" Edward Daugherty, 92 of Sherwood passed peacefully from this life at his home on December 16, 2024. He was born October 1, 1932 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Ray and Alice (Lynn) Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty served his country in the United States Air Force for more than twenty years where he received The Distinguished Flying Cross Medal for his honorable and selfless service. He was a member of North Hills Baptist Church for many years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daugherty was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Daugherty in 1982, brothers, Carl, Bob and Jack Daugherty.

In his free time Jim enjoyed camping, dominos, bean bag baseball at the Sherwood Senior Center, eating at Cheryl's Diner and Sunny Side-up Café.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters, June (David) Simpson and Jerri Daugherty; grandchildren, Jami (Justin) Rhoads, Justin Daugherty, Marci (Matthew) Davis and Caitlynn Simpson. Other survivors include great grandchildren Caden and Jordyn Rhoads; sisters, Barbara Gardner, Betty Grames; and his sweet friend, Mrs. Hollis Kinder; along with a host of extended family and dearly loved friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2024 at North Hills Baptist Church, 9618 AR-107, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72120.  Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
