James "JT" Mathis, 96, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away October 8, 2024. He was born July 22, 1928 to the late Esker and Nelly Mathis.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Mathis; brother, Billy Ray (Laverne) Mathis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and companion and friend, Betty McPherson

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Mathis; siblings, Marvin Mathis, Marie Beavers, Charlene Poe, Betty Williams, and Roy Mathis; and two sons, Darrell Mathis and Randolph Mathis; and daughter, Diane Mathis.

Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00p.m.
