Janet Louise (Williams) Douglass, 82, of Jacksonville, finished her race and went home to be with Jesus on October 4, 2020. She was born December 17, 1937 to the late Daniel "Pete" and Alma Williams in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Janet graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1955 (Go Devils!). She married her childhood sweetheart, Jimmy Douglass, after graduating and they had three children together: Steven, Diane, and Jill. A great job opportunity took the family to Biloxi, Mississippi for 11 years. Arkansas called them home in 1977 where Jimmy started a waste disposal business and Janet started a home remodeling business and antique store. After she raised her children, Janet got her real estate license and worked with her daughter, Jill, at Jim Peacock Real Estate in Jacksonville for over a decade. Janet's last years were spent at Lakewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sherwood due to her mental decline. After a slow transition, Janet started to settle in and feel at home. She loved all the staff there and enjoyed walking around and talking to everyone. She will be dearly missed by everyone lucky enough to have known her.

In addition to her parents, Janet will be welcomed into Heaven with open arms by her son, James Steven Douglass; daughter-in-law, Angela Douglass and sister, Janice Williams.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Diane (David) Bowlan and Jill (Kenny) Johnson; grandson, Brent (Bonnie) Douglass; and great-grandchildren, Amber and Zachary Douglass.

The Douglass family requests that in place of memorial gifts, simply wear your mask. They would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Lakewood Health and Rehabilitation for all the love and wonderful care given to Janet.
