Janice Howell Wokaty, 78, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on March 21, 2025. She was born on October 18, 1946, in Larned, Kansas, to the late Weldon and Mildred Howell.

Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Terry Wokaty; daughters, Tara Wokaty (Bill) Blair and Julie Wokaty (Erik) Kozma; and her cherished grandchildren, Wyatt Blair, Carson Blair, Kyler Kozma, Kormondy Kozma, and Kaison Kozma. She also leaves behind her siblings, Veneta Ediger and Norman Howell. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Nolan Howell.

Janice earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and Home Economics from McPherson College. She dedicated her life to supporting her family as a homemaker and later served as a substitute teacher. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed cross-stitch, bridge, bowling, and snow skiing. She was enthusiastic about figure skating and gymnastics and was a devoted Arkansas Razorbacks fan. She also enjoyed her TV shows, Dancing with the Stars and Wheel of Fortune, Janice never missed an episode.  She made sure to record every episode of both shows, watching later at her own pace and savoring every moment. Her love for these shows brought laughter, excitement, and a sense of connection with family and friends.

Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville and active in the Officer's Wives Club while stationed at numerous Air Force Bases. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, humor, outgoing nature, and unwavering kindness.

A funeral service will be at 11:30AM on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas, with burial to follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to a reception with meal beginning at 2:00PM at the Jacksonville Community Center, 5 Municipal Drive in Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the funeral home.
