Jean Kay Eggleston, 80, passed from this earth into her Savior's presence on March 8, 2025. She was born on July 26, 1944, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late George and Eleanor Schimke.

She spent most of her adult life in Ontario, New York where she raised her children and worked doing data entry for several businesses in the upstate area. Jean met and married the love of her life, Carl Eggleston, in 1979 and they were married for almost 24 years. In the summer months, they enjoyed the views of Lake Ontario, swimming in their pool, and spending time in their pop-up camper playing games. Scrabble was her favorite board game as well as many types of card games. Jigsaw puzzles were also a favorite activity as well as Bingo, reading, and doing Bible study. She absolutely loved kitty cats and had many fond memories of Buster, the family cat, and Gizmo, her companion in her later years.

Jean relocated to Arkansas in 2008, living at the Jacksonville Towers where she was very involved in many of their social activities and served on the board for the Tenant's Association for several years. She loved to cook and bake and was known lovingly by other tenants as the "cookie lady." Her last few months were spent at Greystone Nursing and Rehab in Cabot, Arkansas, where she was compassionately cared for in her last days.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Carl; siblings, Jack Schimke and Yvonne Schimke; and the father of her children, Ronald Baker.

She is survived by her children, Teresa (Scott) Cromer of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Kelly (John) Colletta of Williamson, New York, and Robert (Kathie) Baker of Albion, New York; grandchildren, Kathryn (Robby) Voss, Kelsey (Justin) Coulter, Kyle (Riley) Cromer, Heather Kramberg (Ben), Holly Kramberg (Tim), Jacquelee Baker (Gabe); and five great-grandchildren.

Jean will be laid to rest with her late husband, Carl, at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
