Jerome W
Litton, Jr.
Apr 5, 1939 — Dec 25, 2025
Jacksonville
Jerome W. Litton, Jr., age 86, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away December 25, 2025. He was born in Shaw, Mississippi on April 5, 1939 to the late Jerome W. Sr. and Della Louise (Moore) Litton.
He was a hard-working and dedicated man who spent many years as a truck driver, including hauling milk from dairy farmers—a job that often required working holidays. When his daughter once asked why he had to work on Christmas, he simply replied, "The cows don't know it's Christmas."
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, napping, watching old westerns and wrestling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though he didn't like being the center of attention, he had a natural gift for making others laugh and smile. He especially enjoyed playfully picking at those around him—most of all the children. Even during his time in the hospital, he continued to joke with doctors, nurses, and staff, bringing light and laughter wherever he went.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeff Litton; and brother, Robby Litton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margie Litton; children, Tony (Barbara) Litton, and Sharon (Darrell) Smith; grandchildren, Brian Litton, Brittney (Chris) Leuze, Jordan Smith (Chase Campbell), and Brady (Emma) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kruz, Sawyer, Aurora, Knox, Baker, Bastien, and Brooks; and siblings, Thomas Litton, and Sandra Rose Coleman.
A graveside service will be at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, with burial of cremated remains to follow in the cemetery.
