Obituary

Jimmie Graham Nix Jr., 71, of Jacksonville passed away on March 1, 2021. He was born in Duncan, Mississippi on March 24, 1950 to Jimmie Sr. and Gladys Nix. In addition to his parents, Jimmie is preceded in death by his infant brother.

Jimmie's love for music began at the age of fourteen while living on the Air Force base in Guam. He continued his passion by making music his career and played throughout the country from headlining at casinos to his favorite place, the VFW Post. He was a one-of-a-kind musician with a dry sense of humor that will be missed. Above all else, Jimmie loved his family and friends deeply and was extremely protective of them.

Those left to cherish Jimmie's memory include his wife of fifty-two years, Ann Nix; children, Jesse (April) Nix and Marilyne (Gary Brown) Nix; the mother of his grandchildren, Elaina Nix; sister, Betty Helgeson; sister-in-laws, Belinda Carrington and Cindy Allen; grandchildren, Lauren and Justin Nix; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Jim Nix's Final Performance and Celebration of Life will be 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Ballroom of the VFW, 6704 Old Highway 67, Cabot, Arkansas, 72023.
