Jimmy Ray Wood, age 87, was born March 15, 1936 in Jacksonville, to his parents Raymond and Anna Belle Merritt Wood. He lived most of his life in the Jacksonville area with the exception of twelve years he and his family lived in California. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Sherry Phillips and Brenda Blanton; one sister, Margaret Shillcutt; one niece, Christie Shillcutt and one nephew, Michael Shillcutt.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Dave) Townson of Cabot; one nephew, Danny (Tammy) Shillcutt of Austin;  four granddaughters; one grandson; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one aunt, Billie Jean Wyatt of Jacksonville, two great nephews and five cousins.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonville. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. (501) 982-2138
